Center for Global Engagement

Office of Asian Engagement

Launched in 2019, the Office of Asian Engagement (OAE) provides strategic planning, support, and coordination for the University of Tennessee’s engagement in Asia by serving as a hub for research, academic programs, and outreach and by connecting stakeholders and partners.

Connecting Global Partners

OAE engages students, faculty, and administrators across campus in important international partnerships, streamlining partnership development and fostering collaboration.

Educating Global Leaders

OAE provides unique opportunities for students to gain international experience by connecting them with research projects, academic programs, and career opportunities.

Promoting a Welcoming Campus Climate

OAE promotes a diverse and welcoming campus through its student and outreach programming.

Supporting Research Collaborations

OAE facilitates efforts for faculty to seek grant funding and build research collaborations with global partners.

Strengthening Community Bonds

OAE coordinates campus resources to provide culture and language training for community members and local businesses. Working with state and municipal governments, OAE helps to ensure a welcoming community.
